Lando Norris secured victory at the Formula 1 Hungarian GP this Sunday (26). The driver managed to get the strategy right, held off his opponents, and climbed to the top step of the podium for the first time in the 2026 season.

The McLaren driver managed to cross the finish line with a 15s advantage over Max Verstappen, who finished second. He also took advantage of his teammate Oscar Piastri’s retirement to become the fifth different winner in the championship.
After the race, then, speaking about the dispute, the 2025 F1 champion stated that “I’m tired. I don’t know what happened [on the first lap], I simply lost the rear a few times and the car skidded, so the first lap was over,” he said.

“I was pushing as hard as I could to try and force [Piastri] into a mistake. My pace today was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was so good that I could always extend the stint. I’m happy to be back, happy to see number 1 again,” he continued.
“This track is great for us, and one of the ones that suits me best this year, so perhaps this is the best moment I can have for now,” he concluded.
