Max Verstappen crossed the finish line in second place at the Formula 1 Hungarian GP. This Sunday (26), the Dutchman admitted that he did not expect to reach the podium at the Hungaroring.

The Red Bull driver started from fourth place and, during the busy race marked by strategies, fought for positions, even starring in an exciting battle with Lewis Hamilton.
In the end, he crossed the finish line in second position, 15s behind Lando Norris, the big winner in Hungary. Speaking about the race, the four-time F1 champion was surprised by the positive result.

“I didn’t expect to be on the podium today. We worked hard for it, trying to just survive with the tire compounds and make the right strategy decisions. I saw that opportunity as my only chance and just went for it [against Hamilton]. Everything was under control,” he said.
