Theóphile Nael won this Saturday (25) the Sprint race that opened the seventh round of the 2026 Formula 3 season, held at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary. The Campos Racing driver took the lead on the ninth of the 19 laps of the race held this morning by overtaking Kanato Le, and went on to triumph for the second time this year.

Second position went to Le, ART Grand Prix driver who finished just over two seconds behind Nael. The podium also featured Ernesto Rivera, third with another Campos Racing car. Mattia Colnaghi, the Argentine from MP Motorsport, was fourth, followed by Brando Badoer, who completed the top-5 with a Rodin Motorsport car.
Tuukka Taponen crossed the finish line in sixth position with an MP Motorsport car, ahead of Nicola Lacorte, seventh with DAMS. James Wharton took Prema to eighth place, while Fernando Barrichello scored his first F3 points by finishing ninth with AIX Racing. Freddie Slater, from Trident, completed the top-10.
The disappointment of the race was Ugo Ugochukwu. The Campos Racing driver had a strong start to the race, but saw tire performance drop throughout the event. In addition, a five-second penalty dropped him to 17th place at the end of the race. Brazilian Pedro Clerot finished 21st with Rodin Motorsport after starting 27th.

The race featured a Safety Car intervention right on the opening lap. Jin Nakamura rear-ended Gerrard Xie’s car, while Maciej Gladysz was hit by the Japanese driver’s car. After a few moments, race control neutralized the competition at Hungaroring.
The Hungarian round of Formula 3 will conclude this Sunday (26) with the main race, scheduled for 3:40 AM.
