Racing Bulls arrives at the 2026 Hungarian GP, which takes place between July 24 and 26, with optimism after a first half of the season marked by car evolution and more competitive results. Before Formula 1’s summer break, the team hopes to conclude this phase of the championship with a strong performance at the Hungaroring.

Liam Lawson highlighted his anticipation to race on a circuit he considers special due to its technical characteristics, with many corners and few straights: “I’m really excited to go to the Hungaroring. It’s a track I’ve always enjoyed, with technical corners and few straights, so it feels like a great way to finish the last race before the summer break,” said the driver.

The New Zealander also commented on the lessons learned after the Belgian GP and highlighted the work done by the team in developing the car. For the Hungarian round, Lawson will have the full update package. “I’ve taken the last few days to reflect on what we learned in Spa, but also on the progress we’ve made throughout the first half of the season. The team has worked very hard on car development, and I’m approaching this race with the full update package on my car, so we’ll give our best to fight for points,” he said.

After the race, Lawson intends to use the break to rest and prepare for the second half of the calendar. “After Hungary, it will be good to have the chance to switch off a bit. The season has been quite intense, so it will be nice to go home, spend some quality time with family and friends, and mentally recharge. At the same time, it’s a good opportunity to continue training and ensure I’m in the best possible shape for what will be a busy second half of the season,” he added.
Arvid Lindblad also arrives at the Hungaroring motivated after a first half of the season he described as incredible. The rookie highlighted the realization of his dream to compete in Formula 1 and the importance of Racing Bulls’ support during his adaptation.

“We’re heading to Hungary for the last race before the summer break, and it’s a good time to reflect on what has been an incredible first half of the season. Racing in Formula 1 has always been my dream, and the reality has definitely been better than I could ever have imagined,” he stated.

The driver emphasized the experience of competing on traditional circuits like Shanghai, Suzuka, and Montreal, in addition to the team’s growth in recent races: “I’ve loved every moment of these first races as an F1 driver, especially having the chance to compete on iconic circuits like Shanghai, Suzuka, and Montreal, which were definitely my favorite new tracks. The team played a huge role in helping me adapt, as they have a lot of experience working with rookies, and that’s something I felt from the very beginning,” he declared.
For the Hungarian round, Lindblad expects a good performance on a track he considers quite technical: “I’m really looking forward to racing in Budapest this weekend. It’s a circuit I’ve always enjoyed because it’s a real driver’s track, with lots of corners and fewer straights,” he commented.
The driver believes that energy management will be an important factor, but less decisive than in other recent races. After the Hungarian GP, he intends to use the break to prepare for his return in Zandvoort, where he will race for the first time.
“After Hungary, it will be good to switch off a bit during the summer break, although I’ve really enjoyed the momentum we’ve built recently and part of me would happily keep racing. The break will be important to reset, recharge, and come back fully refreshed and motivated for Zandvoort. It will be my first time racing there, so I’m very excited for what’s to come,” he concluded.
