Formula 1 arrives at the Hungarian GP with the possibility of changes in weather conditions throughout the weekend. Although Budapest is expected to record high temperatures, the forecast indicates a risk of rain at important moments of the 11th round of the 2026 season.

At the Hungaroring circuit, temperatures are expected to range between 25°C and 30°C during track activity days. Still, weather systems moving across Europe could bring precipitation on both Friday and Sunday, the race day.
Friday presents the biggest concern for FP1. A storm system is expected to pass east of the Hungarian capital, mainly affecting eastern Hungary, as well as countries like Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, and Romania.
According to the forecast, the instability should move away before the start of FP2, significantly reducing the chances of interruptions to the afternoon schedule. In contrast, Saturday is expected to pass without any threat of rain, with an estimated probability of 0%.
For Sunday, a new system coming from the Atlantic and moving across southern Europe is forecast to advance towards Budapest. Despite this, meteorological models indicate that most of the rain should only arrive after the race ends.

The start is scheduled for 3 PM local time, when this system should still be over regions of northern Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, and southern Austria, gradually moving eastward. At the time of the race, the chance of rain is estimated at 17%.
During Sunday night, the probability increases to about 50%, with a greater impact expected on disassembly and logistics operations after the event, rather than on the 70 laps scheduled for the race at the Hungaroring.
In addition to the possibility of rain, winds can influence car behavior on the track. On Friday, they will blow from the northwest, creating a headwind at turn 1. On Saturday, the direction changes to southwest, creating a tailwind at turn 4, a condition that should remain during Sunday’s race.
