It's Race Week! Hungarian GP marks the 11th round of F1 2026

Formula 1 continues at a fast pace and returns this weekend for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 11th round of the 2026 season. From July 24 to 26, the championship arrives at the Hungaroring in Budapest for the last race before the European summer break.

The Hungarian round takes place right after a busy Belgian GP, which had Kimi Antonelli as the big winner. The Mercedes driver turned pole position into victory after regaining the lead over Charles Leclerc in the final part of the race at Spa-Francorchamps. The Monegasque finished second, Max Verstappen completed the podium, and Gabriel Bortoleto scored again for Audi by crossing the finish line in eighth place.

The result at Spa maintained the good form of Antonelli and Mercedes, but the championship fight remains open. Ferrari, Red Bull, and McLaren arrive in Hungary looking to react before the season break, while Audi tries to maintain its progress with another consistent performance from Bortoleto.

After the long straights and high-speed corners of Spa-Francorchamps, the challenge changes completely. The Hungaroring is a tight and technical circuit, known for requiring a high level of aerodynamic downforce and driver precision. With few overtaking opportunities, qualifying usually determines the race outcome.

The circuit is 4.381 km long and features a sequence of low and medium-speed corners, with only one main longer straight. Additionally, the high temperatures of the European summer usually increase tire degradation and make strategy one of the decisive factors for the race.
