Racing Bulls arrives at the Formula 1 Belgian GP weekend with updates planned for the car and the goal of extending its streak of consistent results. The team believes that the changes introduced at Spa-Francorchamps can help it remain among the top ten.

Besides the traditional challenges of the Belgian circuit, the 2026 season adds a new component to the equation, the unprecedented chassis and power unit regulations. In a championship marked by tight margins, aerodynamic and energy efficiency gains even more relevance.
Tim Goss, technical director of Racing Bulls, highlighted the unique characteristics of the track: “The tenth race of the 2026 season takes us to the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. It is well known for its large elevation changes, high-speed corners, and long straights, but also for unpredictable weather and rain-affected races,” he said.
According to the director, the circuit allows distinct setup approaches, with options aimed at lower aerodynamic load in search of top speed or higher load to favor cornering performance. However, the current rules have created additional demands for the teams.
“The track requires longer periods in corner mode, with the front and rear wings in a non-activated position. This favors cars with high aerodynamic efficiency,” said Goss. He also highlighted that energy recovery will be a decisive factor, benefiting power units capable of efficiently using electric energy and with strong combustion engine performance.

Another important aspect for the weekend will be the choice of tires. Pirelli will provide the C2, C3, and C4 compounds, equivalent to the intermediate options of the range, which, according to the team’s assessment, opens space for one or two-stop strategies depending on the wear shown throughout the race.
Racing Bulls will also take advantage of the Belgian round to introduce a new update package. Part of the changes involves modifications to the cooling system, initially installed on only one car at Spa, while the second will receive the novelty only at the next round in Budapest.
“At Racing Bulls, we face all these challenges with enthusiasm. In the last five races, we have shown consistent performance on different types of circuits, and this week represents another opportunity to demonstrate the strength of our car’s development. If all goes well, we are capable of continuing our recent streak of top ten finishes,” concluded Goss.
