Cadillac believes it can take another step in its evolution at the Belgian Grand Prix in Formula 1, following the encouraging performance at Silverstone. The team left the British GP satisfied to have moved away from the last positions on the grid and hopes to repeat this level of competitiveness at Spa-Francorchamps.

Graeme Lowdon, team principal, highlighted that completing both the Sprint race and the GP at Silverstone represented another step forward in the project’s development process. According to him, the most positive aspect was the ability to fight for positions with teams that were previously out of Cadillac’s reach.
“The British GP was a very positive weekend for us. Completing the full distance of the GP and the Sprint race at the end of a double-header was another step in our development. The most satisfying thing was managing to leave the last positions on the grid and fight directly with other teams. We want to repeat that this weekend in Belgium,” said Lowdon.
Sergio Perez arrives motivated after good performances at Silverstone, and believes Spa will present a completely different challenge. The Mexican emphasized that the circuit requires special attention to energy management, car ride height, and tire control, factors that will be among the team’s priorities during free practice.

“After competitive performances at Silverstone, we are ready for Spa, which is a very different challenge from any other circuit on the calendar. It will be interesting to understand energy management, car setup, and tire management. We will focus on that on Friday, as well as analyze the updates we will bring for the weekend,” he added.
Valtteri Bottas also highlighted the progress shown by Cadillac in the last round and believes the team can continue advancing. For the Finn, although Spa is remembered for its high speed, the key is to find a balanced car that gives the driver confidence in the fastest corners.
“It was positive to complete the full distance at Silverstone and I felt we took an important step both in reliability and competitiveness. We worked hard at the factory to arrive in Belgium with a good initial setup, allowing us to make the most of free practice and evolve from there,” Bottas concluded.
