Charles Leclerc arrives at the Belgian Grand Prix of Formula 1 with a different approach, after ending his win drought at the British Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver stated that his main concern will not be to repeat the Silverstone result, but to regain the best feeling behind the wheel to extract the full potential of the car.

Before the British round, the Monegasque showed pessimism regarding Ferrari’s competitiveness. The victory, however, changed the team’s perception and raised positive doubts about the true performance of the car for the rest of the season.
According to Leclerc, the most important thing right now is to regain confidence in driving: “Personally, I am not focused on that. My focus will be to recover the feeling in the car. If I have that feeling, I am confident that I will be able to extract the maximum from it. If that does not happen, everything will become more complicated,” he said.
The Monegasque driver also highlighted that Ferrari continues to work intensely to reduce the gap to Mercedes. Despite the triumph at Silverstone, he believes there is still much to understand about the performance shown by the team in the last round.

Leclerc revealed that both Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps were seen internally as unfavorable circuits for Ferrari. However, the result achieved at the British Grand Prix forced the team to reassess their expectations for the weekend in Belgium.
“We expected a very difficult weekend at Silverstone and imagined that Spa would be even more complicated. Since we won, maybe we are a little closer than we initially thought. But this still needs to be proven and we also need to understand why we had a performance so above expectations,” he added.
Even buoyed by the victory, Leclerc made it clear that seeking another win cannot be the main goal: “Personally, I will not focus only on winning, because that would be the wrong approach. I will concentrate on the process to find the best feeling in the car and maximize its performance,” he concluded.
