Racing Bulls had mixed emotions after Formula 1 Monaco GP qualifying. While Liam Lawson celebrated the good car, Arvid Lindblad highlighted some difficulties – but both emphasized the track’s overtaking problem.

Lawson managed to reach Q3 and will line up in tenth place on the grid. “I’m very happy with today’s result and it’s great to get into Q3. We improved the car a lot compared to yesterday, when we had more difficulties than we expected, which led us to make many more changes than we normally would,” he pointed out.
“Obviously it’s very difficult to overtake here, so the goal will be to get a good start. It’s an incredible experience to drive on this track, so I can’t wait to get back on track tomorrow,” he added.
Lindblad completed 23 laps in total and will start from 15th position. “Today’s qualifying session was quite messy and difficult to manage. I felt good in Q1 and was doing a strong lap before the red flag was deployed,” he said.

“In Q2, the tires were much colder and I struggled to find grip on the first attempt. I knew I needed to improve on the last lap, but with the whole queue before starting the attempt, I simply couldn’t get the tires into the ideal operating window,” he added.
“We will analyze why the car was so sensitive to these conditions and see what we can learn from it. Tomorrow will be difficult to gain positions, but we will study some previous races and work to identify where we can maximize every opportunity,” he concluded.
