Hamilton closed Monaco Friday at the top of the table by leading FP2, confirming Ferrari’s excellent performance in the Principality after the team’s one-two in the first free practice session as well. Charles Leclerc finished second, with Max Verstappen third and the Mercedes duo, formed by Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, completing the top five.

The session was interrupted by a Virtual Safety Car after a breakdown in Lando Norris’s car and by a red flag in the final minutes caused by a brake problem on Sergio Pérez’s Cadillac. Even while again experiencing difficulties with gearbox synchronization, Gabriel Bortoleto showed improvement throughout the activity and ended the day in ninth place, just behind Nico Hülkenberg, while Ferrari emerged from Friday as the main reference for this Saturday’s qualifying.
