Oliver Bearman believes that spending another season defending Haas in Formula 1 would not be a negative thing, even if his Formula 2 teammate Kimi Antonelli is shining in his second year on the grid.

Ferrari has already defined its driver lineup for 2027 with the multi-year renewal with Charles Leclerc, leaving the young Brit without a chance to find a spot in the Maranello team in the short term.
However, even seeing Antonelli, a driver of his same generation, in an already competitive team, Bearman showed confidence in his abilities and that seeing the examples of Kimi and Isack Hadjar only reinforces the idea. “I have what it takes. And seeing someone like Kimi and even Isack, my age, my generation, excelling at the front, is a kind of validation for myself, because I’ve raced with them in F4, F3 and F2. But I’m not disappointed,” he said.

“I’m not sad. It’s part of my journey. I’m really enjoying what I’m doing with Haas. I don’t see staying at Haas in 2027 as a bad thing. I think it’s a great opportunity. The team is on a fantastic trajectory and I’m really enjoying this journey we’re all on together,” he continued.

When asked if he would still be at Haas in the 2027 Formula 1 season, Ollie replied, “I don’t know.”
Regarding the expectations and attention he receives for being a promising talent, Bearman highlighted that “it’s not ideal. I like to simply drive the car and do my job, but it’s normal. I also had, of course, a fantastic experience doing my first race with Ferrari.”
“That was also a great learning experience for me, because all the attention was on me. So, any race I’ve done since then has been much easier in terms of… I’ve had more time to prepare, less attention and time to evolve, make mistakes and learn. But it’s normal, F1, people love to talk and make up stories,” he concluded.
