This change exclusively benefits six professionals from each team, responsible for tasks related to the assembly and preparation of tires. According to the entity, the decision was made due to the unique conditions faced by the teams during the weekend in Monte Carlo.

Unlike most calendar events, the Monaco circuit is reopened to the public at the end of each day of activities. This characteristic makes the teams’ operation more complex, as they require constant access to the garages between Wednesday and the end of the event.

Normally, GP weekends have specific curfew periods for operational staff. During these windows, team members are not allowed to remain inside the circuit facilities.

For this edition of the Monaco GP next weekend, the FIA relaxed the rule only for the professionals in charge of tire preparation, after the work carried out by the official supplier. The three-hour reduction will be applied on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of the event.

In an official statement, the entity explained the measure: “Due to the unique logistical challenges presented by the Monaco GP, the following concessions will be made. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, only for this competition, the curfew period will be reduced by three hours for a maximum of six operational staff, exclusively for tire preparation after assembly by the supplier,” the statement says.

The FIA also determined that teams must inform in advance the names of the six professionals authorized to use this exception. The communication must be sent in writing to the entity before the start of the curfew period of each corresponding day.
