Formula 1 competes this weekend in the luxurious Monaco GP, the fifth stage of the 2026 season. Driven by a good result in Canada, Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto are excited for the race on the street circuit.

In Montreal, Alpine had its best result of the championship so far, scoring points with both drivers, achieving sixth place with the Argentine and eighth place with the Frenchman.
Now, after intense preparation, but also some rest, Gasly is excited for the weekend. “I’m looking forward to Monaco this weekend, one of my favorite GPs of the season. It’s one of those tracks that has a lot of prestige and history, so it’s a pleasure to drive a Formula 1 car here every year. Qualifying is, obviously, one of the highlights for us drivers because it’s when we are absolutely at the limit and feel that incredible adrenaline rush, a unique sensation that only a few of us have the opportunity to experience,” he said.
“We came from Canada with our best result as a team this season, with a great haul of points. Although that is quite positive, we know the weekend was far from smooth for various reasons. I spent some time in Enstone last week, working on the simulator and with the engineers to analyze several issues while trying to improve my comfort with the car,” he continued.
“We have dedicated many hours of work to be prepared for this double round between Monaco and Barcelona, where we want to continue our streak of scoring points. I also arrive for race week with a smile on my face after PSG won the Champions League for the second consecutive time. That certainly made me happy and I hope to be equally satisfied this weekend with another good performance in the car,” he concluded.

Colapinto followed his teammate’s thoughts, showing excitement to race in Monte Carlo. “It has been a very busy week for the team since the race in Montreal, but also very positive, as we seek to maintain our strong momentum. I was on the simulator already on Monday after the race and worked a lot with the team before making a quick visit to Paris on my birthday, something I think you must have seen,” he said.
“After that, I immediately returned to Enstone to spend more time with the team and prepare for the start of the intense European phase of the season and for Monaco, one of the best races of the year. The street circuit is one of the most exciting for a driver, with the walls so close. I’m looking forward to feeling how it will be with this year’s cars, which are lighter and more agile,” he added.
“I live in Monaco, so I followed the circuit setup while I was at home, and I can’t wait to go to the track and participate in TL1 on Friday. We return to a traditional weekend schedule, for the first time since Suzuka, so we will have the opportunity to get to know the track better and gain confidence with each session. That is crucial for us to arrive at qualifying ready to attack at the limit,” he continued.
“It’s exciting to be able to go faster and faster, and since overtaking is very difficult on this circuit, Saturday is probably the most important day of the whole year. It will be a busy weekend, and our goal is once again to finish in the top ten and maintain our good performance,” he concluded.
