Nico Rosberg reflected on Lewis Hamilton’s chances of winning an eighth Formula 1 title and said he believes the Brit is not at the level to become an eight-time champion with Ferrari.

After a very difficult first 2025 season with the Maranello team, the competitor seems to have found himself with the team. In fact, in Canada, he finished second and achieved his best result since his debut.
However, the 2016 F1 champion dismissed the chance of the seven-time champion winning a title with Ferrari both because of his level and the team. “Yes, of course, and he would deserve [to win a title with Ferrari]. It would be great to see him continue progressing as he has this year. And I think he will win at least one race this year,” he said on the High Performance podcast.

“But to win the championship, the car is not good enough, and his level is not there yet, but I hope he can improve throughout the season. Even though the best [in Formula 1] earn $50 million a year, the difficulties are still real. Lewis Hamilton, making rivers of money at Ferrari, if you ask him about last year and how horrible it was on a scale of 1 to 10, he would give it a 10,” he continued.
“Joining a new team, with all of Italy slowly but surely turning against him because he is not delivering results, his younger teammate outperforming him… that is a horrible situation and it must have been no fun at all, so you are on the edge,” he added.
