Fernando Alonso does not think about retirement in the near future in Formula 1. In fact, the Spaniard spoke about how he feels motivated during a difficult period like the one he is facing in these first stages with Aston Martin.

At the turn of the 2026 championship and the arrival of Adrian Newey, the team was optimistic for good results. However, after five stages, the Spaniard finished only two races, both outside the points zone.
But this has not been an issue for the two-time world champion, who spoke about how he stays motivated even in difficult moments. “Waiting for the opportunity and, meanwhile, trying to help the team so we don’t lose the competitive edge needed in Formula 1,” he said.

“Driving different categories, different cars, testing in different categories and with different cars, and feeling competitive. If I go to a kart track and I’m not the fastest, I will be worried. If I go to a GT car and I’m not the fastest, I will be worried, and things like that,” he continued.
“While I do that, I remain the fastest, so when the Formula 1 weekend comes, it’s just a matter of time until I have a better car,” he concluded.
