Rob Smedley, who worked as a Ferrari engineer, gave a very positive statement about Kimi Antonelli, saying that Formula 1 has a generational talent in its hands.

In just his second season in the category, the Italian is impressing. In the first five races of the year, he won four consecutively, leading the championship with a 43-point advantage over George Russell.
Therefore, he has been attracting attention inside and outside the F1 paddock, and Smedley was very complimentary of the young Mercedes prodigy who is only 19 years old.

“You can see how much he pushes the car to the limit. He is very fast when you watch, but you can see where he brakes, how he pushes the car to the limit, the way the car moves, his precision and consistency in that trajectory precision. He is always doing the same thing,” he said on the High Performance Racing podcast.
“He is simply very, very good for someone with so little experience in the car. So, in six years, when Antonelli is at the peak of his career, I think we will have a generational talent. I really think he is that good.”
