The Mercedes duo was the one who caught attention during the weekend in Montreal. Both in the Sprint and in Sunday’s GP, they faced off quite hard for first place, and while the Brit won on Saturday, he retired from the main race, with the Italian winning.
Speaking about the battle with his teammate, the F1 championship leader stated that “it was a fierce fight. I think at some points the situation got a bit tense, but we were competing on equal terms. Both of us were pushing the pace and wanted to win.”

“And I think, for those watching, it was quite fun. Definitely, I think the section was very exciting because we were both on the edge, going for the win,” he concluded.
