Oliver Bearman believes that the Formula 1 driver market will gain momentum in the coming months due to the technical changes introduced in 2026. The Haas driver, who is linked to Ferrari, stated that teams and competitors are closely watching the new hierarchy of the category before defining their plans for 2027.

Formula 1 started a new regulatory cycle in the 2026 season with significant changes in both aerodynamics and power units. As a result, several teams are still trying to understand who will really have a competitive advantage in the long term.
Besides these technical changes, several drivers have contracts only until the end of this season. This scenario increases the expectation about possible movements on the grid for the coming years.
Bearman, who has been part of Ferrari’s academy for several years and is often pointed out as a future driver for the Italian team, admitted that he dreams of racing for the Scuderia. Even so, the British driver assured that he is not working in a hurry to secure a seat.
“For me, of course, I am under contract with Ferrari. They have trusted me from the beginning, so it is natural that my ultimate goal is to be with them,” the driver said in an interview with the Press Association.

The British driver also highlighted that he is satisfied with his current moment at Haas and with the team’s progress: “At the moment, the goal is to keep building something with Haas. I am very happy with the trajectory we are on,” he said.
Bearman further emphasized that he has not set a specific deadline to join Ferrari: “No schedule, no problem,” summarized the young driver, dismissing any immediate pressure for a promotion within the Italian brand’s structure.
After five rounds contested in the current season, Bearman believes that a clearer order of strength is beginning to emerge on the grid, although updates throughout the year may still change this scenario: “The end of this year is important because many people will have contracts ending. Everyone wanted to see what the hierarchy would be in 2026, and that will determine how 2027 will be,” he added.
