Alpine left the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula 1 with one of its best results of the season, celebrating an important advance in the constructors’ championship. Franco Colapinto finished in sixth place, his best result in the category, while Pierre Gasly secured more points with eighth position in Montreal.

The performance represented a relief for the team after a complicated weekend start. According to the drivers themselves, Alpine managed to react after difficulties faced on Friday and converted the recovery work into a solid result for the championship.
Colapinto highlighted the team’s collective effort to turn the scenario around in Canada: “From how we started the weekend to achieving a double points finish, this is a great reward for everyone who has worked so hard,” said the Argentine.
The driver also celebrated his best result in Formula 1 and emphasized that the team knew how to take advantage of the opportunities that arose during the race: “We know we benefited from other drivers’ problems and it is never good to depend on that, but we maximized everything we could and brought the car to the end,” he commented.
He also revealed having gone through a delicate moment after his pit stop. According to him, the extremely slippery track almost caused an accident when leaving the pits: “I went through a wet part, touched the white line, and ended up heading towards the wall. Fortunately, I hit sideways and the damage was minor, with no need for repairs,” he explained.

Gasly also evaluated the team’s result positively, despite admitting personal difficulties with the car throughout the weekend: “It was a good result for the team and important points for the championship. On my side, it was more about damage limitation after a difficult weekend,” said the Frenchman.
The Alpine driver explained that he mainly suffered from lack of grip in the initial laps using medium tires. Even so, he managed to recover positions throughout the race and engaged in an intense battle against Liam Lawson in the final laps: “It was very difficult to find a place to overtake and we simply couldn’t pass,” said Gasly, who finished eighth.
Flavio Briatore, the team’s director, praised the team’s work and highlighted the importance of the twelve points earned in Canada: “We executed a good strategy and the drivers did an excellent job on track. Now we have extended our lead in fifth place in the constructors’ championship,” concluded the veteran manager.
Despite the positive result, Briatore acknowledged that Alpine still needs to improve to get closer to the front teams. According to him, both Gasly and Colapinto continue to report similar problems with the car, something the team intends to work on before the next stage in Monaco.
