Ferrari left the Canadian Formula 1 GP with positive signs, after Lewis Hamilton secured second place and Charles Leclerc finished fourth. The result encouraged the Italian team, especially since it was achieved without new updates to the car in Montreal.

Hamilton highlighted that he felt comfortable with the car from the first laps of the weekend. According to the Briton, the confidence built since the practice sessions was fundamental to extracting performance in the cold and low-grip conditions faced on the Canadian circuit.
“It was a really positive weekend on my side. I felt in tune with the car from the first laps in practice,” said the seven-time world champion. Hamilton also thanked the support he received from Ferrari since joining the team. “I am very grateful for the way the team supported me and welcomed me from day one.”
The British driver also emphasized the intense battle with Max Verstappen during the race: “The fight with Max was intense and fun, that’s why we race and it shows the progress we are making,” he commented. Hamilton believes that the updates introduced by Ferrari in Miami continue to bring good results.
On the other side of the garage, Leclerc faced a more complicated weekend. The Monegasque explained that he never managed to find the ideal feel with the car and struggled mainly to get the tires into the correct operating window.

“Lewis had a great weekend with the same car, so I need to look at his data and understand what he did differently to make it work,” said Leclerc. Despite the difficulties, the Monegasque driver managed to recover during the race and finish in fourth place, scoring important points for Ferrari.
The team principal, Fred Vasseur, praised Hamilton’s consistent performance throughout the weekend. According to him, the Briton managed to gain confidence immediately in the car, something decisive in a scenario of low temperatures and little grip.
Vasseur also highlighted Leclerc’s recovery during the race and described Ferrari’s result as encouraging: “We expected a difficult weekend in Montreal because several competitors brought updates and we did not. Therefore, this result is definitely encouraging,” concluded the Ferrari director.
