The 2026 Formula 1 season is about to begin, and Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are excited about the challenge that awaits them at the Australian GP in Melbourne this coming weekend. With new regulations and completely redesigned cars, the expectation is that the championship will be marked by constant learning and adaptation.

Lawson, eager for the first race of the year, commented: “I am very excited for the first round in Melbourne, as it is always a special feeling to race there. The holidays were short, but it was great to spend some time at home in New Zealand with family and friends, preparing myself physically for the demanding 2026. The recent testing session in Bahrain was important to understand the reliability of the car and the power unit, which worked very well throughout the week. Preparation is key as we are entering a new era of F1, and the focus remains on ensuring everything is ready,” he said.
For his part, Lindblad, who will make his official F1 debut, shared his excitement: “I am very excited to be in Melbourne for my debut. During the break, I prepared physically, focusing especially on neck training, which is fundamental after my transition from F2. The simulation sessions and tests were key to getting used to the 2026 cars, which have significant changes, especially in the power unit. I went to Delhi for the Red Bull Moto Jam, which was an incredible experience to start the season and connect with Indian fans. Now, I am completely focused on Melbourne, which is one of my favorite cities in the world. The Albert Park circuit is challenging, and I am looking forward to getting the feeling of racing a Formula 1 car on such an iconic circuit,” he added.

Alan Permane, team principal, highlighted Racing Bulls’ preparation for the start of the season: “We arrive in Melbourne after a good period of testing, both in Barcelona and Bahrain, with over 5000 km covered between Liam and Arvid. The car behaved well, and we are satisfied with the mileage and the groundwork completed. Melbourne brings new challenges, but our simulator work has prepared us for this. Both drivers are adjusting to the new VCARB 03, and this knowledge will accelerate week after week. For Melbourne, we will bring some updates, and this is where the development race really begins,” he added.
With the team ready and the drivers motivated, Racing Bulls is focused on tackling the Australian GP and kicking off a challenging season.
