George Russell is still very much alive in the title fight, according to Martin Brundle. The former Formula 1 driver pointed out that the Brit still has a great chance of becoming champion despite Kimi Antonelli’s good form.

The 19-year-old Italian won the last three GPs, leading the championship with 100 points and 20 ahead of his Mercedes teammate. Therefore, the moment is in the competitor’s hands.
However, Brundle pointed out that last year, Lando Norris managed to come back over Oscar Piastri to take the F1 title. “There is still a long way to go. There are 482 points up for grabs in this championship,” he told Sky Sports News.

“I don’t think the points difference is a big problem for George Russell,” he continued.
“For example, last year in Canada, Lando Norris had an awkward crash with his teammate, Oscar Piastri, at McLaren, and it seemed that this would hurt his title chances, but he ended up becoming world champion,” he added.
