David Coulthard does not believe Max Verstappen will go anywhere outside of Formula 1. The former driver believes the Dutchman will stay at Red Bull until the end of his career.

The four-time world champion participated in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring last weekend aboard a Mercedes-AMG GT3. Alongside Daniel Juncadella, Lucas Auer, and Jules Gounon, he led much of the event, but a technical problem took away chances of victory.
Then, speaking to the Up to Speed podcast, Coulthard explained that he cannot see Verstappen leaving Red Bull. “In my opinion, Max is not going anywhere, because there is no other Formula 1 team that would allow him to be the Max that he is,” he said.

“McLaren wouldn’t be able to, Ferrari wouldn’t be able to, Mercedes wouldn’t be able to, despite him driving a Mercedes, precisely because of the investment made in each driver, but Red Bull can,” he continued.
“To be fair and in the spirit of Mr. Mateschitz, the founder of Red Bull, I remember when I met him before signing to drive for the team, I asked him: what do you think of me? And he said: be yourself. Max is being himself. That’s why we will stop the speculations from a few weeks ago. At the moment, Max will stay at Red Bull for the rest of his career,” he concluded.
