Jenson Button commented on the insecurity of Formula 1 drivers and pointed out how even names like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen suffer – like any other athlete.

Although the duo share 11 world titles and 176 wins between them, the 2009 champion said he believes that even at the level they are currently at, they still doubt themselves at times.
“As drivers, we have our flaws. We are insecure, and that applies to any driver. When I hear Lewis Hamilton on the radio last year, at Ferrari, when he asks a question and doesn’t get an answer, he’s like, ‘Did I do something wrong?’”, he said to Beyond the Grid.

“It’s like, you are a seven-time world champion. The confidence he should have is huge. But insecurities appear,” he added. When asked if he believes Max also has insecurities, he replied “yes, I still think there is insecurity there.”
