Toto Wolff did not spare praise for the Miami Formula 1 GP, following the regulation changes for 2026. The Mercedes boss stated that the race was a great spectacle and responded to possible criticisms.

The event marked the debut of rule adjustments, designed to make the battles more natural and safe. The result was a race with more overtakes and direct battles, reducing artificial differences caused by energy use.
“If there is a single person complaining about today’s race, I think they should hide,” Wolff said. The executive highlighted that the event served as a positive showcase for the category: “It was great publicity for Formula 1, even though it is a less energy-sensitive track.”

Besides the spectacle, Wolff commented on the balance between teams throughout the weekend. According to him, the competitive order varied, with different teams showing strength at different moments: “We are still in the fight, but McLaren took a big step forward. Red Bull Racing was very strong in pure pace on Saturday, but the strategy today didn’t work so well,” he added.
The Mercedes boss reinforced that the season remains open and marked by constant development: “We need to keep evolving, because this is a development championship throughout the year. We will see how our updates work in Montreal,” he concluded.
