Kimi Antonelli won the 2026 Miami GP after a race full of action from the start, marked by incidents in the first laps, a Safety Car period, and varied strategies throughout the race. Charles Leclerc took the lead early on but lost it to Antonelli still in the first stint, before the race was neutralized due to accidents involving Isack Hadjar and Pierre Gasly. On the restart, Lando Norris briefly led, but the sequence of pit stops and the strong pace of the Mercedes put Antonelli back in front for good.

The final part of the race was marked by intense battles at the front. Oscar Piastri pressured Leclerc until he managed to overtake on the last lap, helped by a mistake from the Ferrari driver, who also spun and faced car issues, dropping to sixth. Norris completed the podium, while George Russell finished fourth after a good recovery and Max Verstappen was fifth after an inconsistent race, which included a spin at the start and tough battles throughout the laps.

Gabriel Bortoleto made a recovery drive after starting at the back of the grid, gained positions early on and had good pace at times, but was hindered by a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pit lane and the limitations of the Audi, finishing 12th and outside the points zone.
