The Spaniard managed to advance to the final phase of the time trial in Florida and for the fourth stage of the season will start from ninth place in the pack, positively evaluating the car’s progress.
“We were only 0.1s from 11th, so of course this update in Miami is a positive step for the team. We are still adapting to the new package and our execution can improve, so there was some lap time we could have gained. Tomorrow, we should be able to have fun in the midfield pack and possibly get close to scoring if the weather changes things,” he assessed.
“Finally, it was sad to learn of Alex Zanardi’s passing today. He kept his passion for the sport intact despite so many obstacles and deserves a lot of respect and admiration from the motorsport community. My thoughts are with his friends and family,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Anglo-Thai driver stayed in Q2 and lines up 13th on the grid, but also took the positive from the session. “In today’s Sprint race, we had a decent pace, but in the end, we decided to stop in the pits and test some options with the front wing to learn more before qualifying.”
“The updates the team worked tirelessly on put us in a more competitive position and we need to keep moving forward. In qualifying, we had inconsistencies in tire distribution, combined with some traffic, so I started my lap at a disadvantage. Overall, we have a better car and a good race pace for tomorrow, and the weather forecast for the race may also change things, so we’ll see what tomorrow holds,” he concluded.
