The possible penalty directly impacts the midfield pack and changes the scenario of this Sunday’s race. If confirmed, the Red Bull driver will lose his grid position and will have to start from the pits.

Hadjar had secured ninth place in qualifying, ensuring a spot in Q3, while his teammate Max Verstappen fought for pole and finished second, behind Kimi Antonelli. However, the technical inspection after the session identified a problem with the Frenchman’s car.

According to technical delegate Jo Bauer, the car’s floor was 2 mm beyond the limit allowed by the regulations. The irregularity was reported to the stewards and, as it is a technical infringement, the standard penalty tends to be disqualification.

If the decision is confirmed, Hadjar will lose his position on the fifth row and will be forced to start from the pit lane in the race. The situation still awaits official confirmation from the FIA stewards.
