These measures announced by the FIA include adjustments such as lower energy recharge in the qualifying session, increased power in the ‘super-clipping’ and higher boost limit. Despite this, Alonso believes these modifications should not significantly change the scenario seen in the first three races of the season.
Commenting on the topic, the Spaniard was straightforward: “We’ll wait and see. I don’t think it will completely change what we saw in the first three races.” He also pointed out inherent limitations of the current regulations, highlighting that the concept favors certain driving characteristics and energy use.

The Spaniard also indicated inconsistencies between what was discussed and what should happen in practice: “These small changes might improve a bit, but I’m not sure. If we go back to Suzuka, we would have more ‘clipping’ than we had there, so it’s a bit contradictory,” he added, emphasizing that a more accurate assessment will only come after driving on the track.
Besides the rules, the two-time world champion also mentioned work with the power unit. According to him, the team brought adjustments aimed at reliability and vibration reduction, but without direct performance gains so far. The expectation is for a more stable car, especially in the steering wheel and cockpit, aiming for a more consistent race in Miami.
