The initial stages of the 2025 Formula 1 season have presented a difficult scenario for Red Bull, which after three races occupies only sixth position in the Constructors’ Championship, behind teams like Haas and Alpine. In the drivers’ championship, Max Verstappen has 12 points and is in ninth place. His teammate, Isack Hadjar, has four points and is in 12th position.

The team already anticipated difficulties with the season, especially after the decision to develop its own engine and face new regulatory changes, which placed Red Bull in less familiar territory after years of dominance. In pre-season tests, there were positive signs, such as Hadjar’s performance, who even started third in Australia, but this potential was not maintained in subsequent races.
The calendar break in April, caused by the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs, ended up giving the team important extra time for adjustments. With this, Red Bull, under the leadership of Laurent Mekies, prepared an update package for the Miami stage. The main focus is to resolve the RB22’s excess weight, which would be between 9 and 10 kilograms above the minimum, according to the international portal RacingNews365.

The expectation is that new, lighter parts will be introduced, also helping with energy management and overall car efficiency. With no broad structural changes possible at the moment, the work focuses on aerodynamic adjustments and better integration between car dynamics and downforce generation, in an attempt to recover performance.
