Vettel participated in the London Marathon and completed the 42 km in 2h59min08s, finishing 52 seconds below his three-hour goal. The race was won by Kenyan Sabastian Sawe, with a record time of 1h59min30s, breaking the two-hour barrier for the first time.
Running in support of charities, Vettel highlighted the positive experience in his first contact with long-distance running: “It felt very long, but it was the first time, so I didn’t know what to expect,” he stated. He also highlighted the atmosphere along the course and the public’s support.

The four-time F1 champion revealed that he had been aiming to run a marathon for some time, and set an ambitious goal for his debut: “I set an ambitious goal, I wanted to finish under three hours, and I did it. I am very happy,” he concluded, satisfied with his performance.
In addition to the sporting result, Vettel also celebrated the initiative’s impact outside the race. He and presenter Tom Clarkson raised approximately US$12,500 for charity, a figure that approached US$25,000 throughout the action, reinforcing the event’s success.
