The Red Bull boss was in charge of the multi-champion team for 20 years, achieving eight Drivers’ titles and eight Constructors’ titles. However, he was dismissed with immediate effect after the 2025 British GP, making way for Laurent Mekies, who moved up from Racing Bulls to the main team.

Since then, Horner has been linked to different teams, which would bring him back to the paddock. One of the most recent rumors is with Alpine, with Otro Capital considering selling a 24% stake in the team and Horner is among the potential buyers within a consortium, not just a management role.

Brown, then, asked if Formula 1 misses the Briton and if he himself does, the McLaren boss replied that “Christian was a great personality for the sport. The sport always has great personalities, they come and go. It would be great to have Christian back in the sport. He is a great manager. His track record speaks for itself.”

“I would prefer to have 10 weak team principals, but that’s not going to happen anytime soon, and there’s a lot of talent coming up all the time. There have been a lot of team principal changes in the last two or three years, but it would be great to have him back in the sport, and given his passion for the sport and his age, I would be surprised if he didn’t come back, whether at Alpine or elsewhere,” he added.
