Ferrari ruled out significant changes to its development strategy after the forced break in Formula 1. The cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs due to the war in the Middle East created a five-week gap in the category’s calendar, but the Italian team stated that planning remains unchanged.

This interruption forced F1 teams to revise their schedules, while new regulations with 50-50 hybrid power units require constant exploration. Nevertheless, the Scuderia’s technical director, Loic Serra, stated that long-term plans were not affected.
According to Serra, car development is defined well in advance and does not change due to the absence of one or two races. The Frenchman also denied that there is a more aggressive or experimental approach during the period without track activities.

Ferrari reportedly evaluated existing updates for the SF-26, including the wing known as ‘Macarena’ and the winglets positioned at the base of the halo. Still, Serra downplayed the idea of anticipating complete packages, emphasizing that small incremental evolutions make more sense from a cost perspective.
The director also indicated that the development of the SF-26 should be limited at this time, emphasizing that real learning happens with the car on the track. For Ferrari, losing two races does not change the approach, and the team will continue with cautious advancements while evaluating the potential of the new car.
