Kimi Antonelli does not want to be distracted by the possibility of fighting for the 2026 Formula 1 title. The Mercedes driver stated that his main concern at the moment is to focus on the present.

In his second year racing in the category, the just 18-year-old had a stellar start to the championship. With three rounds completed, he climbed to the top step of the podium in China and Japan, reaching the top of the standings.
But despite starting his campaign on the right foot and having a 22-point lead in first place, Antonelli reinforced that he does not want to get carried away by the Formula 1 title fight.

“What I don’t want to do now, which obviously we are in a good position, is to start thinking about the final result or long-term results. I just want to focus on the present and how I can maximize every time I get in the car to get the best result,” he said.
“And yes, I’m focusing on the process and, little by little, trying to raise the level, improve the game. Because, obviously, George is very strong and the competitors will get closer, so I just need to keep doing what I’m doing, but trying to raise the level little by little,” he concluded.
