Colton Herta will have a busy schedule with Cadillac in Formula 1 in the 2026 season. The team confirmed on Friday (17) that the American will be present in four free practice sessions this year.

The competitor, who has the role of test driver, will participate in TL1 at the Spanish GP in Barcelona, before three more sessions until the end of the championship.
The participations in the sessions will mark Herta’s first official appearances with Cadillac and will mark a step in his development as a driver. In 2026, he is competing in Formula 2 with an eye on a spot in Formula 1.
“I can’t wait to drive the Cadillac car for the first time. I am looking forward to working closely with the team in a full Grand Prix environment and am fully focused on learning from each participation. I hope to contribute to the race weekend as a whole and help the team, Checo [Pérez] and Valtteri [Bottas] as much as possible,” he said.
