Gabriel Casagrande from Paraná was the fastest in the second free practice of NASCAR Brasil for the Santa Cruz do Sul (RS) stage, the round that opens the category’s 2026 calendar. The AMattheis Vogel driver set his best mark at 1min28s659, being 0s021 faster than the second-placed driver.

“Very good to be able to set the best time in free practice 2. It shows that we are on the right track. The car performed very well and we managed to solve yesterday’s steering problem, so we go into qualifying confident,” says Casagrande, who is the overall champion and three-time Special Edition champion in NASCAR Brasil.

Qualifying will be held at 12h35 and immediately following, the six best drivers from qualifying compete in the Sprint Race this Saturday. The two main races will be held on Sunday, at 8h30 and 14h20, respectively.
