At the Japanese GP, the situation gained even more attention after the accident of Oliver Bearman, from Haas, caused by a sudden increase in speed when approaching the Alpine of Franco Colapinto. For the Miami GP, the scenario could repeat itself. The circuit has two long straights, including the main one, which favor super clipping.
The first is preceded by high-speed corners, limiting energy recovery and potentially harming performance in the stadium section, especially in qualifying. On the back straight, the effect tends to be smaller thanks to the slower middle sector, which allows for greater energy regeneration.

Furthermore, the balance of power in the championship is also under debate. During the race in Japan, Frédéric Vasseur stated that Ferrari needs to stay close to Mercedes and that Miami could mark a turning point in the season. The view was shared by Toto Wolff, who acknowledged possible changes as teams and drivers evolve in the use of the new systems.
Expectations now revolve around the meeting scheduled for April 9, when possible adjustments should be discussed to avoid dangerous drops in speed in full-throttle sections.
