Liam Lawson showed optimism with Racing Bulls’ performance at the start of this Formula 1 season. The team presented consistent results in the first three stages and is in tenth place in the constructors’ championship. Meanwhile, the New Zealander occupies tenth position in the drivers’ championship, ahead of teammate, rookie Arvid Lindblad.

Asked by F1 about the impact of this positive start on expectations for the car’s development, he was direct: “For sure.” The driver recalled recent challenges, highlighting that, even in the face of adverse circumstances, the results were positive. “To be honest, a few weeks ago in China, we had an unlucky safety car and still finished in the points,” he stated.
Despite this, Lawson sees positive signs in the overall performance: “It’s very positive when we can have a performance like the one we had in Melbourne. To be honest, I think we are in a great position.”

He also highlighted the team’s effort to maximize results: “At the moment, we are literally extracting everything we can from the car and finishing in the points. So, it’s something quite positive and exciting.”
Lawson returns to the track in early May, at the Miami stage, which marks the fourth race of the year. In the month of April, the category takes a forced break after the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs due to the conflict between the United States, Iran, and Israel.
