Lewis Hamilton hopes that Ferrari can get to the bottom of the “really confusing” lack of power during the Japanese GP that compromised the fight for a possible podium.

In Suzuka, the seven-time champion held sixth position at the start of the race when, taking advantage of the safety car, he went to the pits and managed to gain positions from teammate Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. However, he could not keep them behind and, in the end, crossed the finish line in the same sixth place.
“It was reasonable, a very average weekend for me. For some reason, I had power issues during the race, the car was weak. I spent the whole time defending. The drivers around me seemed to have more power today, so I need to understand why, if my engine has a problem or what. I need to understand,” he told Crash.net.

“It wasn’t a great battle [with Leclerc]. Even Charles seemed to have more power than me, in the same car. So we need to understand why. He did a good job to finish third, but yes, power was missing somewhere,” he explained.
