Lewis Hamilton spoke about his influence on the development of the Ferrari car for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The driver, who appeared more positive about the team’s direction, commented on the challenges he faced over the last year to adapt to the Italian team’s working model:

“It’s a huge difference, and it’s a big challenge. You can arrive and get into the cockpit, but you need to learn new tools, especially a different culture and a different way of working, and incorporate that into your own way of working.”
Hamilton also detailed his involvement in the car’s project: “I’m enjoying driving the new car, and it’s a car in which I had an important role helping with development last year, through simulator sessions. So, it’s good to see some of the things I asked for being incorporated into the car’s design and to be able to feel them in a positive way.”

The driver highlighted the lessons learned from last year and the team’s progress: “Last year wasn’t good enough for us to compete for wins, but we had many learnings and we are applying all of that this year. The season has started much better.”
Hamilton secured his first podium for Ferrari at the Chinese GP and celebrated the good start to 2026: “It started as a very good year, and the energy within the team and the way we are all working together has been very, very positive.”
