In qualifying simulations, Mercedes leads with absolute reference, while McLaren emerges right behind, just 0s10 slower. Ferrari completes the top 3 with a gap of 0s28, staying within a margin that still allows fighting for the first positions on the starting grid.
Further back, the gap begins to grow. Red Bull appears with 0s92 disadvantage, followed by Audi, Haas, Alpine and Racing Bulls, all in the range of more than one second. Williams, Aston Martin and Cadillac close the field, with losses greater than two seconds compared to the leader.
In race pace, Mercedes’ advantage widens slightly. McLaren and Ferrari appear tied, both about 0s24 slower per lap, indicating a direct fight for second place. The consistency of these two teams could be a decisive factor on Sunday.
One of the highlights is Alpine, which jumps to fourth position in race pace, with about 0s99 disadvantage, staying ahead of Red Bull. The French team shows more solid behavior in long stints, which could put them in the fight for important points.

Red Bull, on the other hand, faces evident difficulties. Beyond the gap to the leaders, the data indicates instability in performance, reflecting Max Verstappen’s complaints about lack of balance and grip. The team is still seeking answers to the problems presented.
In the midfield, Audi and Haas appear very close, both with about 1s36 gap in race pace. Racing Bulls and Williams follow in sequence, while Aston Martin and Cadillac remain as the teams furthest from the leaders at this moment.
The analysis of ideal laps also reinforces the balance between the front runners. Oscar Piastri appears as the reference, followed closely by Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, while names like Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton complete the group that can fight for the first positions.
Based on Friday’s data, Mercedes remains as favorite, but the proximity of McLaren and Ferrari indicates that the Japanese GP could have an open fight. If they manage to maintain the performance shown in the simulations, the rivals have real conditions to pressure the leadership throughout the weekend.
