Gabriel Bortoleto’s Chinese GP ended before it even started this Formula 1 Sunday (15). When he was going to the grid, the Brazilian had problems in his car, was pushed to the pitlane and, shortly after, came the confirmation that he would not start.

In Shanghai, Audi’s weekend is not being easy. After a very positive start to the 2026 season in Australia, where the Brazilian finished inside the points zone after being ninth, the second round of the year was quite different.
In the Sprint race, after starting from 14ª position and not being able to advance much in the field, the driver of car #5 crossed the finish line only in 13º, without being able to score points – Nico Hülkenberg did not even finish the race.

In qualifying for the main race in China, then, he made a mistake and got only the 16ª position on the grid, while his German teammate lined up in 11º.
So, this Sunday, Gabriel didn’t even have the chance to fight for any result. The competitor had problems in his car, as yet unspecified, and was unable to compete in the Formula 1 Chinese GP.
