After a very tumultuous start in Australia where they had a double retirement, the British team seems to remain in a complicated situation, but trying to move forward. “We did a few laps in free practice and only managed SQ1 today. I think we did the best we could and we are still far behind the others. We will try to improve tomorrow, complete as many laps as possible and deepen our knowledge about this package,” he said.

Meanwhile, his Canadian teammate completed 20 total laps, was just under 0s6 behind the two-time champion and will start in 20th – the duo still finished ahead of the Cadillac starters.
“We collected important data, which is positive, but we are still facing the same problems we had a week ago in Melbourne. In the end, we don’t want to fight for 19th or 20th place, so we have a lot of work ahead of us, but we came to China with the main goal of continuing to learn more about the car.”
