Max Verstappen analyzed the points where Red Bull Racing needs to evolve before the Formula 1 Chinese GP, which takes place this coming weekend in Shanghai, after the sixth place achieved in Melbourne.

“It was good to get back to racing and it was promising to see our good return in the race. The team did a great job to get where we are, but there is still a lot to do and many lessons we can take from this race,” said the Dutchman.
Verstappen highlighted the main challenge faced by the team, tire degradation, which was a problem in Melbourne and could be repeated in Shanghai: “We were particularly impacted by tire degradation, which can also be a problem at this circuit, and managing them is something we can look at. We will continue to collect data and work to improve the car, as we are still learning and want to enter this week more competitive,” he added.

The Red Bull driver also commented on the difficulty of a weekend with a Sprint format, which reduces the time for adjustments: “We will have less time to work on the car setup, so we need to start well. The circuit is quite unique, with a challenging layout, a variety of corners and many overtaking opportunities,” he added.
Verstappen reinforced that the team intends to use the data from the last race to arrive more prepared and competitive in China, maintaining the focus on the continuous evolution of the new car.
