Some procedures for the Formula 1 Chinese GP were revised after logistical problems involving tire manufacturer Pirelli, which faced delays in the arrival of cargo in Shanghai. The situation forced the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to adjust processes scheduled for this Wednesday (11).

In an official note, race director Rui Marques explained the changes: “Due to logistical challenges for the tire supplier resulting from delays in the arrival of cargo, specifically the need to revise the assembly schedule for Wednesday, the following concessions will be made: On Wednesday, and only for this competition, restricted period 1 will be reduced by six (6) hours for a maximum of six (6) operational personnel per competitor for the sole purpose of tire preparation after tire assembly by the tire supplier.”
The measure was adopted to allow teams to prepare the tires after the assembly carried out by Pirelli, even with the change in the schedule.

Logistical setbacks are nothing new for the paddock. For the second consecutive weekend, cargo transport impacted F1 planning. In the previous round, before the Australian Grand Prix, the teams’ curfew had to be extended on Thursday due to the conflict in the Middle East.
