Vitor Genz was the fastest in the NASCAR Brazil qualifying this Saturday (19), at the Circuito dos Cristais, in Curvelo (MG), securing the pole position by setting a time of 29.186 seconds on the oval track. Thiago Camilo took second place, while Gui Backes completed the top 3 in an individual session marked by constant changes in the lead. Check out how it went:

Qualifying on the oval circuit started with clear skies and hot asphalt in Minas Gerais. For this stage, the qualifying format was individual.
Gustavo Bandeira was the first to go out for his four laps. The Team RC driver recorded 29.972 seconds.
Next was Gabriel Casagrande, who just returned from a participation in the American ARCA series. The Vogel driver recorded 29.717 seconds and took the provisional lead.
Jorge Martelli was the third driver on the track. He managed to beat Casagrande by 0.261 seconds. Soon after, it was Tatiana Calderón’s turn, who recorded 29.625 seconds.
Rookie Murilo Rocha was next. Pushing the car to the limit, the driver managed 29.428 seconds and ended up hitting the wall on his last attempt. Even so, he took the lead.
Tito Giaffone was next on the track and recorded 29.692 seconds. Soon after came Felipe Tozzo with 29.431 seconds, taking the vice-lead.
Dudes Castroneves did only one lap of 32.066 seconds and pulled the car in. With that, Denis Navarro went on track and recorded 29.660 seconds.
Bruna Tomaselli went next and got 29.787 seconds. Firas Fahs went on track next and recorded 29.311 seconds, taking the lead.
The next to accelerate in Curvelo was Galid Osman. In his best attempt, he recorded 29.598 seconds. Then, Nicolas Costa went on track and managed 29.604 seconds. Arthur Gama was next and recorded 29.388 seconds, moving up to vice-lead.
Gui Backes started his attempts. He took the position from Gama by recording 29.366 seconds. Then, it was Juninho Berlanda’s turn. The driver pushed the car to the limit and ended up hitting the wall and damaging his car. Before that, he managed to set 29.822 seconds.
Witold Ramasauskas went on track right after and was only 0.001 seconds behind Fahs in the timing. Then, Vitor Genz went for his attempts. He took the lead with 29.186 seconds.
Cacá Bueno went next and finished with 29.470 seconds. Rookie of the stage, Felipe Malinowski went on track right after. The driver, who replaced Ricardo Zonta, managed 29.384 seconds.
Next was Alfredinho Ibiapina. The driver recorded 29.421 seconds. Thiago Camilo came after but went off track. Even so, he recorded 29.228 seconds and took the vice-lead.
