Formula 1 will have a two-week break after the Spanish GP. The next stage of the 2026 season will be the Azerbaijan GP, scheduled for the weekend of September 24 to 26, at the Baku street circuit.

The Spanish stage was the 14th round of the championship and marked the first F1 race held in Madrid, at the new Madring circuit. Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the race and extended his lead in the World Championship.
With the triumph in Madrid, the 20-year-old Italian reached his eighth victory of the season and now has an 81-point lead over George Russell, his teammate at Mercedes. Russell finished the Spanish GP only in fifth place and lost more ground in the title fight.

The result reinforces Antonelli’s position in the championship fight. According to the scenario presented after the Spanish stage, the driver continues to seek to become the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history.
After the break, the category resumes activities in Baku, where the Azerbaijan GP will be held between September 24 and 26.
