Lando Norris secured pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1 this Saturday (12) and after the session, stated that he made one of the best laps of his life.

McLaren had been performing quite discreetly during the free practice sessions in Madrid. However, in qualifying, they managed to finish with the top spot on the grid with a 0.011-second advantage over Kimi Antonelli, second.
“I’m shocked. I’m a bit surprised to be here now. My God, it was probably one of the best laps I’ve ever done in my entire career,” he said. A few minutes earlier, over the radio, he even said that “it could be the best.”

“I’m very happy, very proud, very happy for the team. It was one of those laps where everything came together. I had a good idea of what I wanted to do, but the question was whether my brain would let me execute it on the last lap; in the end, everything worked almost perfectly,” he continued.
“I’m very happy. It’s one of those laps where you look at the time at the end and think: ‘Wow! That was very good,’” he concluded.
