Speaking to SporTV after the F1 qualifying, Bortoleto said, “I think that the whole weekend I wasn’t 100% confident with the car like I was in the last five weekends. I think that, a new track is also difficult for everyone, but I don’t know if we started in the right direction.”

“The direction I took with the car was also wrong for FP2, I had to go back for FP3. Obviously, we did very few laps in FP3 because of the red flags. I don’t know, I think there was more on the table today, there was more potential in the car, I think Q3 was possible if I had nailed the lap. If I’m not mistaken I was only a tenth and a half from Q3, or two tenths, something like that. I think I easily lost two tenths just in turn 1 on my previous lap.”, he continued.

It’s the kind of qualifying where consistency was missing throughout the weekend to have a good car and a good sequence, and for me to also drive properly. I think I left a bit on the table today. It’s not that we are very far from where we should be, but I don’t think I was able to do that lap that makes me happy, that was an incredible lap. I think today was just a normal lap, and I’m dissatisfied for not making it to Q3, but we’ll see tomorrow,” he concluded.
